Reunion, FL – Premier Junior Tour held its 13th event and second Major Championship of the 2011 season on July 2-3, 2011 at the highly manicured and beautiful Reunion Resort in Reunion, FL.
Play was conducted on the immaculate Arnold Palmer Legacy Course for all 18-hole/day divisions and on the Tom Watson Independence course for all 9-hole/day divisions. The courses were in
great shape, with the greens rolling fast and proving to be a challenge to the competitors. Warm weather conditions were present both days despite the early morning starts, with temperatures
climbing into the 90’s as the day went on.
Men 16-19
In his second showing at Premier, Pureun Kim of Gainesville, FL led round one with a one-over par 73 by one stroke over Ryan Nicoll of Spring Hill, FL. Six competitors were within five strokes of
the leader after day one, but Pureun Kim put on a final round charge of one-under par 71 to seal his victory over Ryan Nicoll, who also posted an impressive round two score of one-under par 71,
finishing just one stroke behind Kim. This great play ensured Ryan's Runner-Up finish over a field of 29 competitors. A third competitor also carding an impressive one-under par 71: Devin
Eatmon of Ocala, FL. Devin was tied for fourth place after round one with a 78, but closed strong showing great character with the third one-under par round of 71 in the field. This was impressive
red-number play by all three trophy winners! This Major victory is Pureun Kim's first victory with Premier Junior Tour in 2011 in only two attempts and finalizes a Tour Championship Invitation!
Pureun Kim enjoyed four items as a demonstration of the fruits of his labor with: a great trophy compliments of Premier, an official UIFL football, courtesy of the UIFL and the Florida Tarpons, a free
pair of Kikkor golf shoes, as well as an FJT exemption.
Men 13-15
In the Men 13-15 Division, Sam Horsfield of Davenport ,FL continued his superb play with Premier by sealing not only his fifth 2011 Championship victory out of eight attempts in a Championship
field of 31 13-15 year olds, but Sam also catapulted himself into the overall Championship victory in the combined Men 13-15 and Men 16-19 rankings for this tournament, with a wide three-stroke
margin! Sam was the only competitor in the field to post two red-number rounds, at one under par 71 and two under par 70. Sam also was the only competitor to post a red-numbered two day
total: a three under par 141! Sam commented, "I played well for most of the tournament. The one hole that I was really happy with the way I played it was the 18th hole on the second day. I ripped a
drive and hit a 5 iron from 175 uphill a bit and into the wind to about 12 feet and made the putt for a great birdie! The course was in great shape. It was pretty long and challenging with some tough
pin locations!" Close on Sam's heels after round one were Mason Fox of Sarasota, FL and Lucas Parrett of Orlando, FL. Both carded great one-over par 73's. One day two, Mason equalled his
round one score to finish a solid 146 total, just two over par total for both days. Lucas Parrett fell short on day two posting a 7-over 79, but still holding firm to a third place finish, despite an
impressive charge by fourth place finisher Parker Manson, who carded an even-par 72 after posting an 81 after round one. Champion Sam Horsfield capitalized on several gifts: a great Premier
trophy, an official UIFL football, a free pair of Kikkor golf shoes, and an FJT Exemption. Sam holds a consistent lead in the points chase with a 5000 point margin over his nearest competitor!
Amateur Men
In the Amateur Men’s Division, Patrick Fischer of Leesburg, FL grabbed his fourth victory of the year. Fischer played consistently, shooting rounds of 85 and 82 for a 167 total. "The keys were to
focus and to swing aggressive to a conservative target both off the tee box and when hitting into the greens," Fischer commented. Fischer is on top on the Amateur Men’s Points List by 6200 points
now.
Amateur Women
In her second appearance of the 2011 Points Race, Stormy Staton of Southport, FL carded a 78 on round one to lead the field by eight strokes. In round two, Stormy held steady with an 80 to claim
the Major Championship and her first Premier victory in 2011. Tyler Williams grabbed Runner-Up honors in her fourth 2011 Premier tournament, posting rounds of 86-89. Claiming third place in
the Major Championship was Lauren Lyle of Orlando, FL.

football, a pair of Kikor golf shoes and an FJT Exemption.
Women 10-13
In a record-sized field, this division proved the tightest race of the Major Championship. Among the 14 competitors, five were within only five strokes of each other after round one, and the
Champonship was up for grabs. In Round 2, an amazing flurry of hole-by-holes led to a three-way tie for the Championship! According to Premier Junior Tour Rules, a Championship tie is
conducted in a sudden death play-off. In so conducted, after only two holes, Amy Zhang of Lake Mary, Florida proved herself victorious of the Championship. That left first-time competitor Courtney
Zeng of Orlando, Florida and Loren Perez of Bartow, Florida in a second-place play off to determine runner-up and third place. In the end, Courtney Zeng was victorious, and Loren Perez came in
a very respectable third place in this large field!
Young Men 11-12
In the Young Men 11-12 Division, a strong field of nine competitors had six within six strokes after round one... again a very attainable number for the eventual Champion. In round two, eventual
Champion Sully Zagerman of Windermere, FL turned up the heat by posting the lowest round two score... a 76, two better than his nearest competitor. Coming in runner-up was Ryan Hicks of
Clearwater, FL, posting a 78 for round two. Finalizing third place was Jacob Penny of Valrico, FL, with a 164 total.
