Bonita Springs, FL – Cool weather and an excellently conditioned course greeted the players as they competed in Premier Junior Tour’s 2010 Spanish Wells Christmas Championship at Spanish
Wells Country Club in Bonita Springs, FL. This was Premier’s second event of the 2011 Points Season. Saturday brought forth high winds, exceeding up to 30mph at times. Sunday was calmer
with winds at 10-15mph. Both days featured plentiful sunshine.


Men 16-19
First time Premier competitor Tanner Rabb of Zionsville, IN was crowned champion in the Men 16-19 Division. Rabb opened with an opening round of 88 in the windy conditions on Monday. Rabb,
however, came back strong with a round of 78 on Tuesday which gave him a 166 total and the victory.
Paul Tsavoussis of Tampa, FL earned second place in the Division. Tsavoussis followed a
first round of 94 up with an 85 in round 2.


Men 13-15
In the Men 13-15 Division, Landon Weber of Bonita Springs, FL jumped out to a four stroke lead after an opening round of 79. Four behind Weber was Garret Buckley of Novi, MI. Brandon Meyer
of Lehigh Acres, FL posted an 84 on day one.
Jeffrey Alexander of Port Charlotte, FL and Adam Firavich of Coral Springs, FL both had opening rounds of 86. Playing in the second to last group,
Alexander came in with a 77 and posted a 163 total for the leaders to beat. Weber came in with an 87 for a 166 total, and Meyer came in with an 82 for a 166 total as well. Alexander completed the
seven shot comeback with his 77, which gave him a three stroke victory, making up ten strokes in one day. Meyer and Weber were tied for second place and in need of a playoff. Weber emerged
victorious from the chip and putt playoff and secured second place.


Women 14-19
A big comeback was featured in the Women 14-19 Division as well. Julia McQuilken of Riverview, FL opened with a 77, which gave her an eight stroke lead over fellow competitor Stefanie
Mitchell
of Sarasota, FL. Mitchell, however, recorded a great round of one over par 73 on Tuesday, while McQuilken struggled to an 83 which gave Mitchell a two stroke victory.


Young Men 11-12
No comeback was needed in the Young Men 11-12 Division. Spencer Alexander of Port Charlotte, FL lead wire to wire Monday and Tuesday. An opening round of 83 gave him an eight stroke lead
over fellow competitor
Sean Moran of Wheaton, MD. Alexander bettered his 83 by six strokes on Tuesday with a five over par round of 77. Moran’s 183 total (91-92) gave him second place. Peter
George
of Naples, FL finished two behind Moran at 185 (98-87) and earned third place. Both the Alexander brothers (Jeffrey and Spencer) posted 77’s on Tuesday and won in their respective age
Divisions.


Boys 9-10
Mark Moran of Wheaton, MD was able to fend off fellow competitor Lamar Williams of Tallevast, FL in the Boys 9-10 Division. Moran had a seven stroke lead over Williams after posting a 106 on
day one. Williams was able to make up five shots on Tuesday by way of his round of 100. Williams fell just two strokes short of Moran. Moran was awarded first place and 1200 points for his victory.


Girls 9 & Under
In the Girls 9 & Under Division, Megan Ikeda kept her position on top of the points list after her victory at Spanish Wells. Ikeda followed up a round of 47 on Monday with a 45 on Tuesday, giving her
a total score of 92 and the victory.


Boys 8 & Under
Preston Weber of Bonita Springs, FL was crowned champion in the Boys 8 & Under Division. Weber shot his best ever round on Premier with a 38 on Monday. Weber followed his 38 up with a 42
on Tuesday which gave him an eighteen hole total of 80, also his best on Premier. Weber was awarded with 1200 points for his first place win.
